Foreign-Language Newspapers
Some new immigrants to Michigan could read newspapers printed in their own
language. These newspapers were printed in the United States; others were sent
from their homelands. In this way they learned the news of their adopted
country and kept up with news from the land they had left behind. Papers, top
to bottom:
- Finnish, 1931, Superior, Wisconsin
- German, 1899, Elkhart, Indiana
- German,
1895, Monroe, Michigan
