Kids on the
WWII Home Front

Photo of Time Traveler newspaper pageDuring the months after the tragedies of September 11, 2001, kids helped in many ways. Kids have a long history of helping in times of trouble. Just as September 11, pulled the United States into a war against terrorism, the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941, brought the nation into World War II. This Time Traveler goes back 60 years to see how kids helped in that war effort.

"Kids on the WWII Home Front" originally appeared in the Lansing State Journal on November 14, 2001, as part of the Lansing Newspapers In Education (NIE) program.
