Gems and Jewels

 

Charles Peilla has removed his stock of jewelry from the Bennett & Drake drug store to his newly fitted quarters, 121 Washington avenue north. He will have a very handsome place of business.

Jewelry Exhibit Case Lansing's jewelers repaired watches, fitted eyeglasses and engraved a variety of metal wares in addition to selling jewelry. Some, like Charles Piella, began on a small scale and later expanded into their own shops. Some ran other businesses in addition to their jewelry stores: J. J. Heath cultivated a 20-acre fruit farm and H. B. Morgan joined W. B. Cross in the bicycle business.
